Prior to the development of the California Initiative for Regenerative Medicine, the California Tissue Engineering Meeting (CTEM) was formed to encourage dialogue between academia and industry, while providing a forum for education and information dissemination. CTEM aims to facilitate partnerships that will accelerate progress in Tissue Engineering and in the development of Regenerative Therapies.

Another important aspect of the CTEM mission is to provide opportunities for young investigators to present their work and discuss their research with prominent academic and industry scientists. In order to encourage participation of students and junior research staff, registration is free for those individuals. Consequently, CTEM relies on grants and donations as its predominant source of support.

As a means of introduction to the quality program organized each year, you can get a copy of the 2006 program ( contact CTEM at caltechtemth@yahoo.com) . Many of our sponsors are dedicated to the CTEM mission and are repeat participants. I would like to also invite you to join in the tradition of excellence made possible by such donations. Your
